[21.06.23] Meet ENPOR at EUSEW – Tackling energy poverty through national building renovation plans

On 21 June 2023, 16:30-18:00 CET, ENPOR will take the stage at the EU Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels (and online).

The pertinence and urgency of leaving no one behind while achieving climate goals for 2050 is reinforced by recent crises (the Covid-19 pandemic, energy prices/supply and the war in Ukraine) and is included in both EU and national recovery plans. By increasing energy efficiency in buildings, long term impacts include reducing excessive energy bills, reducing energy consumption thus lifting people out of energy poverty and preventing it.

While EU level policies set the frame for actions to improve energy efficiency in buildings and to address energy poverty, Member States still struggle to tackle the issue in policies, financing programs, and more. This EUSEW policy session tries to highlight existing tools and best practices that can increase capacity, knowledge, and skills to reduce energy poverty and therefore potentially help Member States to formulate renovation strategies and targets local and national policy makers.

The hybrid event will be part of the EUSEW thematic block Affordability and inclusion on 21 June. To kick off the day, a keynote speech will focus on the EU’s priorities for reducing energy consumption and delivering a fair transition for all.

The policy session organized by ENPOR in collaboration with the ODYSSEE-MURE project, will take place on the same day from 16:30 to 18:00.

The final agenda will be communicated here soon.
